About East Penn

East Penn originated from the visionary Breidegam family. In 1946, DeLight Jr., a young Air Force veteran, embarked on a battery business venture with his father, DeLight Sr. Their humble beginnings took root in a small single-room creamery located in the village of Bowers, PA.

During the wartime era, battery components were scarce, but there was a significant demand for refurbished batteries to aid returning GIs in getting their vehicles back on the road. DeLight and his father met this need by collecting old batteries and expertly rebuilding them to a pristine state.

Over the span of seven decades, East Penn has evolved from a single-room operation offering only five automotive batteries to emerging as one of the world's premier battery manufacturers. With a workforce of over 10,500 dedicated employees, a diverse product lineup comprising 515 designs, global operations, and numerous accolades for industry excellence, East Penn stands at the forefront of innovation.
